Pau D’Arco is the Portuguese name of a particular tree found in the rainforests of Brazil. Today the locals call this tree “Lapacho,” but it is also known by the tribal names of “Ipe Roxo” or “Taheebo.” These trees are a part of the Bignoniaceae family, of which the Teak tree also belongs. Extracts from the inner lining of this certain type of tree bark have been used for hundreds of years for its many medicinal properties.
